A Passion for Preaching

Jeff was raised in western Pennsylvania in a nominally Christian home and came to saving faith in Christ when he was 14 years old. His life was turned upside down as he soon became deeply involved in the life of the church, receiving a call to preach at 16 years old. To this day his passion is preaching. He uses his wide-ranging communication experience as a teacher, pastor, missionary, director, announcer, and consultant to equip others to more effectively proclaim the Word.

Dr. Arthurs is a professor of preaching and communication at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton, Massachusetts. His books reflect his deep love of preaching and communication: Preaching with Variety, Devote Yourself to Public Reading of ScripturePreaching As Reminding, How to Preach Narrative, and the Kerux Commentaries for Biblical Preaching and Teaching on Colossians and Philemon, and Ephesians. Dr. Arthurs has been married for 38 years and enjoys playing tennis and disc golf with his wife. They are the parents of one son, Daniel.
